Its practice is integrative as it heals the various unresolved issues and traumas that are present in you body and mind, and restorative as it enables you to recognize your innate peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life. iRest® provides you with tools to help you relax deeply, release stress, increase resiliency, improve your interpersonal relationships and provide you with greater mastery and control in your life. iRest® nourishes noble qualities such as joy, peacefulness, empathy, forgiveness, patience and loving kindness towards yourself and others., and supports you to resolve issues such as stress, insomnia, anxiety, fear and depression.
iRest® respects your age, cultural, religion, and philosophical orientation, while teaching self-care tools that lead you to experience resiliency, and well-being throughout your life. iRest® Yoga Nidra helps you stay on track, and live your life with meaning and purpose.
Simple to do, iRest® is a guided meditation designed as a 10-step approach to help bring mediation into and throughout your daily life. Done lying down, seated or in any position you find comfortable. Then listen to my voice as we explore what is present. Although it is a guided experience, I am not telling you what to see. Rather it is a gentle invitation to be open to what shows up. As we move into deeper and deeper relaxation, we reconnect easily to the fact that you are really and truly OK just as you are.
In one on one sessions you find a comfortable position and after a few relaxing beginning steps we explore together what arises for you. No need to share your personal story, we focus more on what is present from moment to moment.
The Integrative Restoration® Institute was established in 2006 by Dr. Richard Miller. Susan has been a registered teacher of iRest® since 2007.
Extensive research has shown that iRest® effectively supports the healing process across a broad range of populations. Currently, there are iRest® programs in military hospitals across the U.S., as well as in correctional facilities, hospices, clinics, schools, and organizations supporting personal growth and well-being.
